Kodiak and brown bears of Alaska fatten up each year in anticipation of hibernation by gorging on protein rich and fat rich salmon that are returning to their stream of birth. The bears wait for this bonanza every year, and with amazing speed and agility, catch the fast-moving salmon as they head upstream. As long as you don’t get between them and their dinner you will be fine, although telephoto lenses are a must!
