Introduction
In 2026 we celebrate the 250th anniversary of our country. There is no better example of patriotism and what we stand for than the bald eagle, a symbol of valor, dignity and pride. Knowing the importance of this symbol is, it is sobering to think that the bald eagle was spiraling towards extinction in the mid 1900’s.
I wrote a 200 page book (with 174 professional photos) about this called The Comeback of our National Symbol in Michigan. Even though Michigan is in the title, it applies to all the bald eagles that are in North America.
